Pacific Rim & Americas Cup Land Yachting Championship 2009
Race information:
Location; Ivanpah Dry Lake, Primm Nevada
Event dates; March 20th to 28th, 2009
Racing dates; March 22nd to 27th, 2009
Organization; NALSA will organize this event.
Advertising; Will be allowed on the body, mast and bottom 1/3 of the
sail on all yachts for this regatta.
Classes to be contested;
Start 1.
International Class 2
Nalsa/ Pac Rim Class 4
Start 2.
First of the remaining classes (see below) to register 15 yachts
Start 3.
Nalsa/ Pac Rim Class 3
Nalsa/ Pac Rim Class 5
Start 4.
Manta Twin
Start 5.

If none of the remaining classes register 15 yachts the classes will be
divided up into starts of “like and similar” yachts. This decision will be
made by the race committee at the soonest possible time.
International Class 2 specifications
The Chassis,
The yacht fully rigged with a pilot in the cockpit, must not fit between two
vertical posts with a 3.65m (143 ¾”) gap between them. (i.e. outside to
outside of rear wheels must be at least 12’)
Length of body,
Minimum length of the load bearing portion of body is 4.15m (163 ½”). This is
the portion of the body that does not include the front springboard or other
appendages and extensions.
Sail area,
The maximum total propulsive area, i.e. sail + mast + boom is, 11.3 sq. m.
(121.5 sq. ft.) and a minimum of 8 sq. m. (86.1 sq. ft.)
The mast,
A fluorescent orange strip, 40 mm (1 5/8”) wide and minimum 2m (78 ¾”) long,
is stuck on the leading edge of the mast (near the top).
Advertising,
Advertising is allowed anywhere on the body or mast, and only on the bottom
1/3 of the sail.
This advertising rule is on a trial basis in the US which extends through
and includes the 2010 Americas Cup. This rule only applies to International
Cl. 2, unless otherwise specified in the official NALSA race notice.

At the time of this posting, July 4th, 2008, we have no official
sponsor. We are working with a couple of companies at this time and should
have a better idea of what will be at our disposal shortly. We will help
wherever possible with shipping and receiving here in the USA. There will be a
limited number of yachts for charter. Keep looking for more information about
the charter program and other information on this or the yahoo site.
